HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY FUNERALS MANAGERS TAKE UP KEY REGIONAL APPOINTMENTS
Two Managers within the Heart of England Co-operative Society’s Funeral Division are celebrating key prestigious appointments within leading funeral industry associations.
Andy Jackson has been elected Chairman of the Midlands Division of the British Institute of Embalmers, while Brian Evans has been appointed President of the Funeral Directors Guild – Coventry & District.
Andy is Manager of the Society’s Funeral Division in Nuneaton, Earl Shilton, Bedworth and Barlestone.
During his two years in office Andy, who has been with the Society for six years, will chair a series of meetings which will look at issues affecting the industry. There will also be educational meetings featuring talks from pathologists and other experts linked to the industry.
Andy, who first decided to become an undertaker at the age of 16, and who has worked in the funerals industry for 15 years, said he was delighted with the appointment.
The 47-year-old, who is based in Nuneaton and who is married to Caroline, said: “As a matter of routine our meetings will look at current practice, procedures and legislation which we all need to be aware of in the industry.
Brian is Manager of the Society’s Funeral Homes in Lower Holyhead Road and Ansty Road, Coventry. His appointment lasts two years and follows on from his appointment as Vice President of the Funeral Directors Guild – a position he also held for two years.
The Guild meets on a quarterly basis and also works closely with a number of organisations linked with the industry, such as local council authorities, hospitals, clergymen and mortuaries. Together they also highlight and focus on issues arising that affect the industry.
Brian, who has worked in funerals for almost a quarter of a century, said: “I am delighted with this new appointment. During my two years I will ensure the Guild continues in its work to look after the interests of the funeral directors who are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors, as well as championing the highest levels of client service.”
Brian, aged 60, is married and lives in Coventry.
