The Heart of England Co-operative Society has announced a series of managerial changes within its Food Division.
The Society has appointed Jonathan Bhardwaj Store Manager of its Corporation Street Foodcentre, Carol McKenzie Store Manager of Tile Hill Lateshop, Jasbir Dadry Store Manager of Ansty Road Lateshop and Rob Owen Store Manager of Meriden Lateshop.
Jonathan, aged 26, who lives in Hinckley with wife Davina, has worked for the Society for two years.
After training at the Society's Earlsdon Co-operative Store, Jonathan moved to Nuneaton Foodcentre as Manager Designate before taking up his managerial position at Corporation Street.
In his new role he is in charge of a team of 13.
Carol, a mother of five who lives in Kings Heath, Birmingham, has worked for the Society for three years.
She started at Balsall Common Foodcentre as a Trainee Manager. Within a year she took over as Manager of the Meriden Lateshop where she remained until her recent promotion to Tile Hill Lateshop.
Jasbir is now Manager of Ansty Road Lateshop. The 30-year-old started as a Sales Assistant in Earlsdon Co-operative in 1997. The following year he was promoted to Supervisor of the store. In 2001 he moved to Corporation Street Foodcentre as Trainee Manager and was made Store Manager in September 2003. He remained there until his promotion to Ansty Road Lateshop.
And at just 21 Rob is one of the youngest Managers within the Society.
Rob, who lives in Meriden, has been with the Society since the age of 16 and has worked in the same store for the last five years.
After leaving college he took up the trainee manager scheme. Within eight months he completed the course and was made Deputy Manager of Meriden Lateshop, before being appointed Manager.
Peter Fletcher, General Manager - Food of the Society, said: "We pride ourselves in giving each and every one of our employees the opportunity to climb the career ladder. This demonstrates our commitment to our employees by promoting from within.
"One of the many benefits of this is our stores are managed by people with an excellent grounding in the retail industry. Every time we appoint a new manager to a store they bring in fresh ideas for the benefit of that store, its staff and of course its customers.
"My congratulations to all the staff who have recently been promoted in the Food Division. I wish them every success and offer them my full support in their new roles." |
