HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY
DONATES £500 TO YOUNG
LOCAL FOOTBALLERS
The Heart of England Co-operative Society has donated £500 to the Coventry-based Triumph Athletic Football Club.
The money has come from the Society's Helping Hearts Award Scheme and will be used to buy 10 tracksuits for the Club's Under 7s team, which consists of players aged six and seven.
All the boys are from Allesley Hall and Earlsdon primary schools. The team is the youngest within the club and was formed at the beginning of the season.
Steve King, Manager, said: "We are extremely grateful to the Heart of England Co-operative Society for this generous donation. Raising this amount of cash is really difficult so to have it handed to us in this way is fantastic.
"While we managed to secure funds for very basic kits for the boys we had no money for other things - such as the tracksuits, to keep them warm in the winter months, and other vital training equipment.
"This money has helped no end as it gives them a sense of pride and confidence when they are wearing the tracksuits. The children were over the moon when they received them."
