Part-time Personal Funeral Advisor


20 hours per week

We are looking for a part-time (20 hours per week plus Saturday opening rota) Personal Funeral Advisor in our funeral home in Daventry. This role requires a complete focus on providing our client families with the very highest levels of service through advising them of what options are available to them in order for us to be able to arrange a unique tribute for their loved ones.

The successful applicant will preferably have some experience in the Funeral Industry however this is not a prerequisite, as full training will be provided once in post.

Head Office

Pension & Insurance Admin Assistant

Head Office

30 hours per week

We are looking for a Pension & Insurance Administration Assistant to join us at our Head Office in Coventry, on a permanent part-time basis of 30 hours per week. Reporting to the Financial Controller & Secretary, your role will be to assist in the Pension & Insurance function in an efficient and accurate manner. You will be an integral part of the team and assist the Society in the continual improvement of the Pension & Insurance process.

The successful applicant will need to have some experience in the pensions and insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• To be an expert in all aspects of the Society Pension Scheme and answering queries, completing calculations in accordance with the rules, issuing Benefit statements and thoroughly checking ID and paperwork.

• Work alongside the Payroll Team arranging payments

• Updating the system with any changes or leavers

• Requesting CETV’s & Trivial Commutation calculations from Actuary

• To deal sensitively with bereaved families, working with next of kin/solicitors discussing over or underpaid pensions and any Death-In-Service that arises

• Assisting the department in any ad-hoc administrative tasks

• Checking Accident Forms from stores are fully completed and that all documents are present, chasing when necessary

• Reporting any accidents that fall within the RIDDOR list, diarising any accidents and requesting relevant information from Payroll

• Notify Insurers of any accidents/incidents that are likely to result in a claim

• Processing invoices, calculating business loss and stock loss

• To be familiar with the health & Safety Policy and CCTV Policy

You will have excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines, both independently and as part of a team. You will be analytically minded and confident in using all Microsoft Office Programmes, with a good working knowledge of both Pensions (DB & DC) and Insurance Procedures.

Head Office

15.5 hours per week

We are looking for a Receptionist to join us at our Head Office in Coventry, on a permanent part-time basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller & Secretary, your role will be to provide a fast and efficient switchboard/reception service to colleague’s, customers, and visitor’s.

Key Responsibilities:

• To answer the Society’s main reception phone, transferring calls to the relevant department and taking messages

• Meeting and greeting visitors and ensuring they are signing in and out

• To manage the booking of holidays and cover for the reception area

• To perform any ad-hoc tasks requested by the Senior Management Team, including the Society’s flash sales every Monday morning

• To continually work under the procedures and regulations set out in the Society’s Employee Handbook

About You

As the first point of contact for all visitors, you will always be professional in approach and demonstrate a high standard of appearance and conduct. You will have previous experience in a similar role, be IT literate, have excellent attention to detail and be analytically minded, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. You will be a team player and use your excellent interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships across the Society.

You will be required to work 15.5 hours per week, Monday and Tuesday 8.45am-5.00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. A level of flexibility will be required in order to support the business.
